But that might be an interesting time to listen shortwave or even medium wave radio. The theory is that frequencies usually open only at night might be usable during the brief period of darkness caused by the eclipse. We will not have a total eclipse here in the Washington DC area. But I will tune to WWV on 5 MHz from Colorado to see if that signal becomes audible, or improves, as the totality moves across North America. Please be careful in your travels to an eclipse viewing area, and in viewing the eclipse when it happens.
